But which avenue is right for you: In-Person Ayurvedic Consultation or Ayurvedic Group Workshops? In-Person Ayurvedic Consultation

Ayurveda, often referred to as the “science of life,” is fundamentally like Yoga a personalized approach to healing. In-person Ayurvedic consultations offer an individualized experience, where you receive personalized assessment and guidance from an experienced Ayurvedic practitioner, much insight and clearer direction can be obtained when in the patient-practitioner environment if you think about all other medical systems including doctors, specialists, chiropractors etc use this method.

And why has Ayurveda become so big on workshops and what benefit do they have compared to an in-person consultation? And why like Yoga which was traditionally taught one-to-one (student to guru) has the class environment become the trend?

 

Here’s what you can expect:

Customized Treatment Plans: During an in-person consultation, the Ayurvedic practitioner will assess your unique constitution Dosha (Prakriti) and any current imbalances of Dosha (Vikriti), assessment of Dhatu (tissues), srota (channels), Agni (digestion), Ama (toxins), Ojas (Immunity) and aspects of the mind (manas). As we know workshops are held in the group space, while this can be a nice introduction to Ayurveda, most people are less likely to divulge to one another about our personal health concerns and the practitioner or person hosting the workshop will have their focus more on the group than the individual. What they will be offering is a more generalised approach and a way of getting a feel for what is involved with implementing some regimes and routines into your daily life.

 

Here’s what you can gain from participating in such workshops:

Deciding between an In-Person Ayurvedic Consultation and Ayurvedic Group Workshops depends on your individual needs and preferences:

  2. If you prefer learning in a community setting, have no serious health concerns, on a budget or seeking a general understanding of Ayurveda, group workshops may be a better fit.

 

Conclusion

In Buderim, Ayurveda and Yoga Therapy provide a path to balance and well-being, catering to diverse needs. Over the last 17 years, I have provided the service of in-person Ayurvedic consultation.  Earlier in my career I held plenty of workshops based around Ayurveda and these were most helpful for those who were reluctant to make a commitment with their health using Ayurveda the workshop gave them a gentle introduction and a chance to get to know me and what I offer. Our Ayurvedic cooking workshops were hugely successful for many years as a way for our clients (who have seen me privately and new to ayurveda) to ignite their passion for ayurvedic food and a fun way to expand on their repitore for cooking Ayurvedic meals at home for friends and family and as an add on from what was given to them in their consultation. Although these were helpful,  from my experience over the years I see people do their best from a in – person consultation.

We have optimized our Ayurvedic in-person programs to deliver the best quality service this we have found to give the patient excellent results compared to a workshop.

 

Short courses in Ayurveda are becoming very popular and claim to turn you into an Ayurveda wellness coach or improve your health, please keep in mind to have a thorough knowledge of Ayurveda you need to be studying this subject for 6 years full-time and have a good understanding of pathophysiology and then have a clinical experience before you even practice.
