This 7 Day Challenge is an opportunity for you to place your health and mental wellbeing as a priority, reignite you’re practice and create a strong supple body over the winter.
Read on for all the details.
Arising early in the morning consistently removes stagnation that accumulates in the colder months setting your body and mind up for the day.
Embrace a holistic mindful yoga practice over 7 consecutive days morning and evening.
Reinspire and reset with a week of specific practices that are accessible, improve energy, train your nervous system to slow down and build resilience.
The word challenge may conjure some resistance such as… the thought of getting up early in winter …. staying consistent with the one thing for 7 days…… how will I fit this into my busy schedule….. the mind is very good at talking us out of things that we know are inherently good for us.
If you have put your yoga practice or health on the back burner for some time this is a great way to get back on track. When our mind and nervous system is in a calm clear state we are able to move through our day with ease, less stress, productivity and increased energy.
If you have been waking late, rushing through the day to get everything done then feeling defeated at the end of the day this week will set you right.
The yoga sessions in the morning will invigorate, energise and warm the body and clear the mind. The evening will see us winding down releasing any accumulated stress from the day. All classes are taught in the tradition of Sri T Krishnamachyra, teachings that go back to the origins and fundamentals of an integrated approach to yoga an authentic approach.
What this means is that all aspects of a yoga practice are taught in particular the use of proper breathing (you won’t find in your mainstream yoga studio).
This assists with good interception ( self awareness, building a better relationship with yourself), emphasis on mental health/wellbeing and nervous system resilience and learn to build coping mechanisms to learn to deal with the pace of life. Along with the physical benefits that yoga asanas offers.
