Are you looking for a yoga class where you will learn an authentic and traditional approach to yoga?
A teaching style that honours yoga as a practice for the mind, body, spirit and a complete discipline?
Yoga is a practice of self discovery a path of personal transformation where we get to discover a deeper sense of our true self beyond the mind, body and senses. A sincere application to a yoga practice gives us the opportunity to experience this path of personal transformation and reduce the afflictions of the mind, body and emotions so we can move towards our true potential.
Thank you for looking into attending classes at the Yoga and Ayurveda Wellness Centre my name is Kim and I am your teacher at the centre.
The classes that I teach are in the tradition of Sri T Krishnamacharya which emphasises the importance of breath, accessible postures, sound/mantra as a tool for mental clarity/steadiness and an individualised approach.
The classes are held in small groups of up to 6-8 people and suitable for those looking to practice yoga in a more traditional setting. This is Yoga practiced in a safe and nurturing environment, user friendly postures with more time available to spend on meditation and advanced breathing practices also know as Pranayama and short discussions on various topics in regards to Yoga and Ayurveda.
Rather than a standardised style or brand of yoga, this is classical yoga as taught by Sri Krishnamacharya – an inclusive and integrated approach, where each person’s individuality and unique requirements are honoured.
Classes are suitable for those wishing to gain a deeper understanding of the practice of yoga as a complete discipline in a progressive manner for the long term rather than just an exercise class.
These classes are an excellent starting point for those wanting to learn yoga in a supportive environment for stress reduction, mental wellbeing, feel they don’t fit into your mainstream yoga studio or looking for a deeper sense of self.
